Obituaries

A graveside service for Ruis Henry "Skeet" Odom of Arabi will be held at 9:00 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2010 at Arabi Cemetery. The family will greet friends immediately following the service.  Mr. Odom, 92, died at his residence Thursday.  Born in Turner County, he was the son of the late James Henry and Leffy Eugene Maddox Odom.  He was a retired farmer and a member of Arabi First United Methodist Church.  Mr Odom is survived by three children and their spouses, Jo Odom, Kathy and Glenn Ruff and Jimmy and Sandra Odom, all of Arabi; a brother, Joe L. Odom of Ashburn; a sister, Wynette Smith of Arabi; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Kyle and Amber Odom, Kevin and Christy Odom and Felicia and Charles Harpe, all of Arabi, Mandy Odom of Statesboro, Lee Long and Rus Shoptaw, both of Georgetown, SC, and Kassi Johnson of Cobb; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
