Obituaries

Graveside services for Harry Duane Bradshaw of Cordele will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Sunnyside Cemetery.  Mr. Bradshaw, 80, passed away Monday at Crisp Regional Hospital.  Born in Poquoson, VA, he was the son of the late Lynwood Lemuel and Mattie Firth Bradshaw. He was a United States Army veteran and a Metallurgical Engineer (RET) at Farmville Manufacturing.  He was an active member of Cordele First United Methodist Church.  Prior to moving to Cordele he had been a professor at the University of Alabama from 1957 until 1972 and a member of Tau Beta Pi and Signa Xi fraternities.  Mr. Bradshaw is survived by his wife, Sara Elizabeth Bradshaw of Cordele;  two daughters, Karen B McCarron of Barnesville and Leah B. McKinney and her husband, Michael of North Augusta, SC;  three grandchildren, Kara McCarron Forrester and her husband, David of Dacula, Claire Ann McKinney and Bradshaw Cornelious McKinney, both of North Augusta, SC; and two great-grandchildren, Ethan Forrester and Emily Forrester.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Ann Bradshaw and a sister, Lucille Bradshaw McKeever.
